Soft Fridays

It’s Friday, and that might mean game night for some of you. We are at the end of the first week of life of this blog and I want to thank every one of you for helping me in my little project. It’s the first time I let my geek run free on the open world, and it’s been awesome so far. I’m thinking that Fridays are going to be a soft day at The Gentlegeek, with just a few tips to face the weekend and some news about next week’s posts. No posts on weekends, sorry. As always, don’t be shy about giving feedback, and take that chance to tell what you might like to read here in the near future, ask questions, post suggestions or really anything that is bothering you about the blog. We have a brand new Facebook page and a Twitter account, so just say hi whenever you have the chance.

For this weekend, my tip for you is to find a metagame. That’s a game that can be played while playing another game. There are a lot of free metagames around the internet and some others have been published by game companies, so it’ll be easy for you to find one. If you want a personal recommendation, try a game called Illegal, designed by Christophe Boelinger. Be sure to role-play it a bit to make it even funnier.

Next week we’ll have some tips about how to theme a geek night, whether we are playing tabletop games, rpg’s, LAN parties or just hanging out with friends. I’m also shaping a post about snacks to have around while gaming (yes, with recipes) and another about drinks that might wonder some of you on why the hell didn’t you tried geek cocktails before! Another thing we’ll see next week is the Decalogue of The Gentlegeek, along with some freebies you will surely enjoy!!

See you next week!
